Prototype Development Program
To speed time-to-market and help to develop the right luminaire solutions quickly, Permlight offers to luminaire manufacturers our industry-exclusive Prototype Development Program where in most cases we develop an initial prototype at no charge to the manufacturer.
In this prototype development process, we work with the luminaire manufacturer to specifically qualify the product or project needs, and we develop and test a prototype that meets the customer’s expectations, typically in only a matter of a few weeks.
Prototype Development Process
- Customer fills out LED PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS form
- Permlight sales team can assist customer in filling out info, which can be completed electronically
- Timeline for Customer to complete specifications = TBD by customer
- Project Specification review
- Permlight Engineering reviews project specification for economic and engineering feasibility. If project accepted, Permlight assigns PDP number to project, provides this number customer for shipping samples for easy identification and project tracking, and establishes estimated timeline for completion (after receipt of product samples)
- Timeline for Permlight to review specifications = up to 1 wk
- Luminaire Prototyping
- Customer provides Permlight sample of luminaire and/or luminaire drawings for prototyping and thermal evaluation
- Initial prototypes using standard Brillia components are usually provided by Permlight at no cost to customer [exceptions are when outside materials are needed to complete prototype and/or exclusivity of designs are required]
